Autumn and winter touring campsites

Don't put your caravan away yet! There are many sites open over the summer months but also here are a few suggestions for places to visit this autumn and winter...

So why not head to the coast and enjoy a crisp morning walk on a beach stay at one of these campsites near London and experience the many attractions the capital has to offer, or get close to nature by visiting a glorious national park? Better still, there are often great deals to take advantage of at our sites during the cooler months, perhaps leaving you with a little extra to enjoy a drink by a roaring fire in a country pub!

Bridlington Club Campsite, Yorkshire

Bridlington Club Campsite boasts 81 all-weather pitches, making it ideal for a winter break. Miles of stunning Yorkshire coastline stretch both north and south from near the site and nature lovers will be in their element. Nearby Flamborough Head is home to one of the most important seabird colonies in Europe (even in winter it attracts species such as snow buntings, waxwings and rough-legged buzzards) while just along the coast is Bempton Cliffs RSPB Reserve. The seaside resorts of Bridlington and Scarborough are within easy reach while, heading inland, the North York Moors National Park and the city of York make for excellent day trips.

Henley Four Oaks Club Campsite, Oxfordshire

Brush up on your royal history during a stay at the picturesque Henley Four Oaks Club Campsite, which is well-placed for visits to both Windsor Castle and Hampton Court Palace. Windsor Castle – the world's oldest and largest inhabited palace – has housed 39 monarchs since the 11th century, you can learn more about the life of Henry VIII at Hampton Court and even go ice skating during the winter months (booking in advance is necessary for both venues)! The town of Henley is also great for a stroll – or you could jump on a boat for a trip along the Thames.

Meathop Fell Club Campsite, Cumbria

Whether you are looking for an active break or to simply sit back and unwind, Meathop Fell Club Campsite is the perfect destination. Set within the heart of the Lake District, the opportunities for walking or cycling in stunning surroundings are almost endless.

If getting out on the water is more your thing, the campsite gives you easy access to fun water activities at Windermere, plus sailing, canoeing and windsurfing at Coniston.

Moreton-in-Marsh Club Campsite, Gloucestershire

If you're up for an early-morning walk through the wonderful countryside? If the answer is yes, then Moreton-in-Marsh Club Campsite is an ideal base thanks to its position on the northern edge of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There is also an extensive list of picture-postcard villages to explore in close vicinity to the site, from historic Moreton-in-Marsh itself to the achingly pretty Lower Slaughter and Bourton-on-the-Water. If you fancy a bit more hustle and bustle or the chance to do some Christmas shopping then Cheltenham is also easy to get to by car, bus or train.
