So, once the Coronavirus starts retreating and it's safe to go out again - What can we expect from Caravanning in 2020?
Well, last year saw many new and exciting innovations brought to the marketplace. From telescopic caravans, lightweight caravans designed for people embarking on their first adventure, right through to luxurious caravans for seasonal siting. Also a selection of eight feet wide models.
In recent years more and more of us chosen to holiday here in the UK and we expect that to continue in 2020.
Grab a deal!
The industry needs a freshen up and needs to attract new people who have never previously owned a caravan. The marketplace is tougher now and more than ever the caravan dealers need to sell off their stocks of the more traditional caravans to make way for newer, more exciting models. Therefore, there is certainly a deal to be had. It's a buyers’ market and you are bound to be able to haggle a superb deal in 2020! Research and drive a hard bargain!
This year, we estimate that most caravan brands and dealers will compete even harder for your business. Last year some new ranges where launched, they offer great value for money, lightweight and different in styling compared to 'traditional' caravans.
Hold fire on going Electric!
In terms of the car market – quite simply, people are buying fewer cars now. Recent legislation changes mean that people are staying away from petrol and diesel vehicles and are looking far more seriously at clean, low emission electric alternatives.
However, when it comes to caravanning, electric cars just don't have enough power under the hood to tow any great distance. Electric caravans and cars have been at the concept shows – but they are still concepts and won't reach the marketplace anytime soon. In 2020, you should keep hold of your diesel car and put it to good use towing your caravan around the UK.
Getting connected will be easier
These days being constantly connected to the Internet is now the new norm. Caravans with mobile Wi-Fi kits are going to be seen more and more this year.
Needless to say having a good internet connection is very useful for entertainment, keeping informed, but also planning trips in the local area where you are staying. In recent years caravan owners have opted to use Wi-Fi 'Dongle' to stay in touch and update their social media channels etc but they have been known to suffer from interference from the caravan which in turn affects the overall Internet connection.
Therefore, we believe it would be a good idea to invest in a Wi-Fi kit. They are affordable, easy to install and give increased 'gain' on your Internet connection.
